The Ponte wine has an intense garnet colour and aromas of black fruit, plum jam, mint, spices, with typical floral notes of Touriga Nacional. Deliciously balanced and rich, with a surprising freshness and structure, lush tannins that ensure its longevity. Despite its considerable guarding potential, Ponte is perfect in its youth. Varieties: Touriga Franca (33%), Touriga Nacional (33%) and Syrah (33%). It followed the ancient winemaking techniques of Mouchão, with hand-picking and foot treading in wine presses, and aged in new French oak barrels and old barrels for 24 months. Decant or open between 12 and 24 hours before serving.
At the end of the 19th century, John Reynolds bought Herdade do Mouchão, a 900-hectare plot with two small rivers. In addition to the existing cork production, the family planted vineyards there. To this day, local grape varieties are used for this, and the grapes are hand-picked and trodden underfoot.
