What personal data is stored and why
When visitors leave comments on the site, data from the comment form, as well as the browser’s IP address and user agent, are stored to support spam detection.
When uploading images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded geolocation data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract geolocation data from the website’s images.
When leaving a comment on the website, you can choose to have your name, email address and website stored in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when you want to leave another comment. These cookies are valid for one year.
When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, some cookies are set up to store your session information and screen display selection. Login cookies are valid for one year. If you select “Remember me”, your session will remain for two weeks. When you sign out, your login cookies are removed.
When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information, it only shows the ID of the content of the article you were editing. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other sites
The articles on this website may contain embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves as if you are visiting those sites.
Who your data is shared with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long your data is stored
When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of placing them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we store the personal data provided in your user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (they just cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights do you have in relation to your information
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an export file of your personal data held about you, including any personal data you have provided. You can also request that the data we have about you be deleted. This does not include personal data that must be retained for administrative, legal or security reasons.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments can be verified by an automated spam detection service.
